Make a referral week is the best idea I have heard of yet to help small business stimulate the current economy. Instead of focusing on all the negative doom and glooom headlines we read about every single day from numerous new sources, this is an active effort for small businesses to take action themselves by making referrals to other small businesses one business at a time.

referral weekThe project’s goal is to generate 1000 referred leads to 1000 deserving small businesses during the week of March 9 – 13, 2009. It’s mission is to highlight the impact that the effect of a single action can have on our economy and to hopefully create millions of dollars worth of new buisness for small business owners throughout the country.

Entrepreneurs and small businesses are the lifeblood of our current economy and we deserve the same positive attention and government concern that has been reserved for the big corporate bailout stories. So please join me in supporting our small business community by making as many referrals as you can to other small business owners this week and beyond.

I’d love to hear about any referrals you could make to me also. I’m looking for someone to assist me in updating my website and incorporating an email opt-in option, product page, shopping cart, and to assist with brand development. So do your part and send the referrals my way.

I’d like to give a special shout out to Donna Gunter at Online Biz U for letting me know about this great project and to the project’s creator, John Jantsch of  Duct Tape Marketing.
